CLASSES

Q: Can I order online and collect in-store before my class?

​

A: Yes, not a problem, please let us know that you plan to collect and when.  Our   opening hours are Monday - Saturday 10am-5pm.  We are often open for classes in the evenings, so please give us a ring and you can arrange to collect on an evening if that suits you better.

Q: I am unable to make one of the weeks for my block of classes, can I just pay for those I will attend?

A: Unfortunately, your place is reserved for the full block so this has to be paid for.

Q: The item I ordered online isn't what I needed for the project, can I return it?

A:  Returns Policy

If you experience any problems with any of our goods, please contact us by calling 01383 747884 or emailing maggie@buttonsandblethers.co.uk 

Should any goods you receive from us prove to be faulty, we will arrange for a replacement or refund - whichever you prefer. Before returning faulty goods to us, please contact us, and we will arrange to cover the cost of returning the faulty goods.

Should you decide to return any goods which are not faulty, please ensure you return them to us within 30 days. We will arrange for a full refund of the cost of the goods, providing the items are unused, and in a saleable condition. We will not be able to cover the cost of returning the goods to us.

Please note that patterns, books and cut trims are non-refundable.

Q: How do you manage my data?

A: Buttons & Blethers collects and processes Personal Data belonging to their customers.  Any information collected is used directly to inform customers of new events and to send information of all things new at Buttons & Blethers.

 

We collect the following data:

  • Contact name

  • Address

  • Contact telephone number(s)

  • Email address

  • Social media address

A listing can either be created directly by a member via their own registration of personal details on our website which asks us to send them Newsletters, via our booking system or through capture of contact name, phone number and/or email address through booking classes via our website or in person to our shop or over the phone.  By giving us personal information, the customer is giving consent for Buttons & Blethers to use information from this listing for our own use.  We will not ever pass this information on to third parties.  The information is used solely for the purposes of website Newsletter distribution, user experience and for the gathering of marketing information.  Marketing data is used for the improvement of the Buttons & Blethers business.

HOW DO BUTTONS & BLETHERS PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

In order to protect your privacy, Buttons & Blethers has implemented information security and personal data protection policies.  Buttons & Blethers employees and associates who come into contact with your personal data have obligations to adhere to our policies and are regularly trained in security and privacy best practice.

Buttons & Blethers apply appropriate technical measures in order to protect data, computing devices and our local network from accidental, malicious activities or theft.  Data is added, edited and deleted using a browser protected by SSL.  SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser.  This link ensure that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral.

All personal data taken over the telephone, via email or in person in our shop and hand written on bookings sheets or any other paper system will be kept locked in our cabinet at all times except when taking further information from the customer.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

Data Protection Laws, describe individuals who have provided their Personal Data to an organisation (either directly or indirectly).  As a Data Subject, you have a number of rights with respect to how organisations process your Personal Data.

As a Data Subject, you have the right to be informed of the use that your Personal Data will be put to, and your rights.

 

Where you provide your Personal Data directly to Buttons & Blethers via our website, these details will be made available at the time your data is obtained.

 

If your data is to be used to communicate with you, these details will be provided at the latest, when the first communication takes place.

 

RIGHT TO ACCESS

Data Subjects have the right to access and obtain a copy of your personal data held and processed by Buttons & Blethers, on request.

RIGHT TO RECTIFICATION

 

You have the right to request Buttons & Blethers to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

 

RIGHT TO ERASURE (to be forgotten)

 

You have the right to request Buttons & Blethers to erase your personal data from its systems and records.  If you no longer wish to be a member or no longer subscribe to be a customer of Buttons & Blethers, any data or directory listing will be permanently deleted from our system.

 

This is not an absolute right however, and does not normally apply to purposes covered by Legal Obligation or which is necessary for the performance of a Contract.

 

RIGHT TO OBJECT

As a Data Subject, you have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data, where Buttons & Blethers relies upon legitimate interest as the lawful basis for processing.

 

COMPLAINTS

If your are unhappy with how your Personal Data is processed by Buttons & Blethers, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Office.  If you remain unhappy, following Buttons & Blethers response to your complaint, you have the right to lodge a further complaint with The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).  The ICO are the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP) UK representative within the EEA.
