Service Description

Come along to our fantastic bench seat cover making class where you will learn various skills to create different types of covers. We will teach you how to measure & cut your fabric, then help you to stitch together to get the perfect fit. You may insert a zip, buttons or velcro whichever you prefer. It would be best to line the foam pieces first so you will start with that. You will not be able to complete every foam cover you would like, but what you learn in class will enable you to complete the others at home. This is not a class for a sewing beginner. You will need to be able to thread your own machine (or ours) and be of a reasonable sewing standard. You will need to bring: 1 x foam cushion pad the exact size you need for your bench seat. Lining fabric: 2 pieces larger than the seat you are covering and an extra piece for making strips for around the edges. Main outer fabric: Same as lining fabric Large zip, velcro or buttons (we do have zip on a roll so this can be purchased if needed. (Enough for one full strip along the length of the foam seat.) If you would like to add a piping or trim, please bring plenty of that with you too. Thread and a small sewing kit. If you need any assistance in deciding on fabric requirements please get in touch prior to booking. If the seat pads are for outdoors, you may wish to consider waterproof fabric. We do have a selection of fabrics in store which would be suitable if you'd like to purchase in advance. Free Coffee/Tea and cake will be provided.
